It's so easy to go through life and make our own decisions, do things according to what we want. It's so easy to think the preacher is talking to someone else, when God is really trying to get a message across to us. So often we try to bypass the will of God, we don't realize what we are doing sometimes. One that wants to be obedient to God must have a dedicated prayer life, and more than a desire, also a determination to do Gods will.
God is searching for willing, and useful vessels to use for His glory. We hear that all the time and so often we tell God, "Here I am, you can use me." ..but are we really meaning what is said? Are we being obedient to what God has called us to do? Or are we just expecting Him to say that since we don't want to do what He said then He will give us a different job to do?.. If God speaks to one and says to do something, (maybe it's just give someone a hug and say 'I'm praying for you') Whatever it is that God says, He wants it done. Sometimes we may think if we do what we feel to do, that we will be made fun of, that someone will think we are just crazy. Well, if there is a desire and a determination to be obedient to God, we won't care what others are thinking about us. Remember, if one really wants to be used by God, BE WILLING.
Sometimes it hurts us in the flesh to be obedient to God.. There are things that's a must in living for Jesus. One is that we MUST be separate from the world. Don't try to fit IN with this world, when you were born to stand OUT! Family can be a big hindrance if they are not in church. The flesh wants to keep company with friends and family that are not in church, hanging out with them, and spending alot of time with them. God said, "Come out from among them, and be ye separate." It's hard to hang with the world and be separate. It's hard when one has to separate themselves from the ones they are close to. It's worth it though! There are benefits in obedience to God.
Prayer and fasting is very important in being obedient to God. We not only are commanded to pay tithes and offerings in money, but in all things. God gives us time, Do we take time to be obedient and pay tithes and offerings for that? Studying the Word of God, Prayer, and Fasting? That's some things that without realizing it, we don't take the time to do so often.
Praise and Worship is a MUST in a child of God! Daily praising God and worshipping Him is part of being obedient. Responding to God, in prayer, in song, and in preaching..Being obedient to Gods will ALWAYS turns out for the best!
Always listen to the man of God, the shepherd that God has put over you. Always listen and obey! At times the flesh doesn't want to, because it doesn't sound good to the flesh.. but if we listen and let God speak through our shepherd, God will guide us into happiness. God doesn't want us to find out the hard way, that we should have listened,.. it's His will for us to listen and OBEY. It's worth it to always be obedient to Gods will.
